Society for Social Medicine in Finland is a national interdisciplinary association for researchers and others interested in public health issues. The association's main goals are to
- promote research and education in social medicine and punblic health
- to influence health policy by arranging seminars, meetings and conferences and by publicing its own journal (Sosiaalilääketieteellinen Aikakauslehti), which contains scientific articles in Finnish or Swedish with summaries in English.
The society was founded in December 1968 and has around 500 members.
